A woman and her words.

I swear all of this happened. Life is freaky.

Lisbeth Darsh

Heard of CrossFit? I’m a major reason why.

As a key early director at CrossFit, Inc. I helped explode CrossFit from a tiny workout regimen with thousands of devotees to a worldwide global phenomenon with millions of fans, broadcasts on ESPN, and over 10,000 global affiliates.

Then I left to conquer new worlds, like writing books, venturing into mindfulness, and directing digital strategy for other health and wellness brands (1440 Multiversity and Biocidin Botanicals).

I know how to tell stories and build community. I’m also honest, hard-working, and fun. Integrity isn’t an option in my world: along with kindness, it’s the cornerstone of everything I do.

People have called me a thought leader, an industry icon, a top influencer, a legend, and a “sports inspirationalist” – I think they made that one up! But — no lie — the word people most often use to describe me is brilliant. I try to live up to that one.

My work has been read by millions of people and I am grateful. Now I work for myself and help companies get the attention they want and need.

Scenes from a Life Well Lived

Saudi Arabia, 1991

Once upon a time, I was an aircraft maintenance officer in the United States Air Force.

What does an English major from Vassar learn on fighter aircraft?

Lots, including how to lead hundreds of technicians towards a common goal under massive stress far away from home.

And once you’ve deployed to a combat zone, the rest of life isn’t so scary. Well, except for motherhood. (Spoiler: my two kids still like me!)

I loved those days.

Watertown, CT, 2008

Then I became a personal trainer and a gym owner, back when pretty much nobody had heard of CrossFit.

Being a small business owner was an eye-opener, even though I had grown up with parents who owned a small business. I loved helping folks get fit — and together we built an amazing community in Watertown, CT.

But I was ready for more.

Working the 2012 CrossFit Games in Los Angeles

Then life got even weirder.

Not even a year into being a gym owner, the founder of CrossFit found me and asked me to work for them. Over the course of six years, I did everything I could to propel that company during its most explosive period of growth.

I wrote a daily blog for CrossFit affiliate owners, ran the global affiliate program, took CrossFit kicking and screaming into social media (they thought it was a fad), made a massive success of their Facebook and Instagram pages … and exploded the brand as far and wide as possible.

It was on fire — and I was ready for new challenges.

On the 1440 Multiversity campus, 2018

I left CrossFit in 2014 to conquer new worlds.

In two years, I wrote six books and then decided to venture into mindfulness for four years as the Director of Digital Marketing Strategy for 1440 Multiversity in the mountains near Santa Cruz, CA.

After Covid shuttered the 1440 campus for a while, I became the Director of Digital Strategy for Biocidin Botanicals. Five years of fun lead to an acquisition by private equity … and I decided it was time to work for myself again. I now accept select clients looking to improve their digital marketing. And I live in Seattle, within walking distance of my two children.

It’s a happy ending but it’s not over yet! Call me if you need help. Seriously. I got you.

Whatever the platform, certain constants are a hallmark of my work: top-notch thinking, outstanding writing, and unwavering integrity.
